Job Title: Benchmarking Software Test Engineer
City: Shanghai
Job Description: Primary Responsibilities include:
Work with engineering, applications engineers and system
engineers to enable benchmarking on clusters and large
shared memory systems.
Port and tune applications at source code level and
conduct application profiles and performance analysis
Benchmark customer in-house and open source, with a focus
on Climate and Weather applications on SGI products
Work with product engineering to qualify performance on
new products and support the sales team with pre-sales
technical assistance and standard benchmark
Analyze and document application performance
characteristics of the applications for which you are
responsible.
Support the SGI sales team with pre-sales technical
assistance and customer benchmarking related to the
applications you support
Job Requirements: BS, MS, or PhD computer science, physical science, applied
mathematics, meteorology or equivalent
At least 3 years experience building, optimizing and
benchmarking applications used in science and engineering
on large-scale parallel systems.
In-depth knowledge of computer architecture, both at the
processor level and at the system level
Ability to quickly become productive on new system
architectures and work on pre-production systems is
critical.
Basic knowledge in code profiling tools such as VTune,
pfmon, PAPI, oprofile, etc.
Proficiency with Linux operating systems, including
scripting
Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as
C, C++ or Fortran
Familiarity with parallel programming standards such as
MPI and OpenMP
Ability to work effectively with a geographically
distributed organization
Ability to use Microsoft Office suite to report results of
his work and make presentations
Very good oral and written communication skills in English
