Job Title: Pre-Sales Systems Engineer
City: Mumbai
Job Description: The Pre-Sales Systems Engineer is responsible for
understanding all technical aspects of multiple concurrent
sales opportunities and delivering the solutions to fit the
customers needs. This individual provides technology
leadership in positioning and convincing customers on SGI
products and technology within the SGI target markets
including Manufacturing, Government and Oil and Gas.

Develop and deliver presentations, provide technical
response to Requests for Proposals (and RFIs), pilot
projects and demonstrations. Provides consistent,
proactive, on-site technical leadership, expertise and
consulting services to ensure the success of initial
implementations and help grow the account to enterprise-
wide adoption. Responsible for a wide range of activities
from requirements analysis through systems sizing and
complete HPC solution design. Knowledge across multiple
platforms, processes or architectures, as well as broad
knowledge of new technologies including server consolidation
and virtualization technologies is necessary. Work with
Sales from qualifying an opportunities until closure; to
contribute in driving server, storage and services sales
across India aggressively. Participate in planning
discussions, provide directions to the organization on the
market trends both short term & long term to support
growth strategy in the Japan market. Perform and summarize
the benchmarking activities as needed for the sales
opportunities. Maintain close communication with global SGI
technical teams to define solutions and prepare proposals
for India opportunities. Travel up to 50% of the time
across the territory to develop and grow the business with
sales. Team player and motivated to work with customers and
partners to accomplish the assigned task with minimal
guidance.
Job Requirements: Detailed knowledge of Server, Storage and HPC technologies
suited for SGI target markets is essential. Preferably a
Computer Science/Engineering graduate with strong, proven
track record of products & solution selling, exposure to
pre-sales environments with an experience of 7 to 10 years.
Must have extensive experience in design, installation and
configuration/change management of HPC clustered Linux
systems. Good presentation & interpersonal communication
skills, with capability to articulate technology, key
product & solution concepts. Benchmarking skills and
experience with application compilation and debugging.
Prior hands-on experience in CAE / Computational
chemistry / Weather forecasting will be preferred.
Proven record of driving effective customer and partner
relationships from a technical standpoint,
Must be effective in working both independently and in a
team setting. Ability to uncover business challenges and
develop a custom solution to solve those challenges.
Experience in architecting solutions for HPC around
Linux/Unix platform & on Storage products (IBM, Sun,
HP,NetApp, etc)
