Description The Business Analyst is responsible for working with business stakeholders to understand the business opportunity of new software project objectives, translating objectives into requirements, prioritizing with stakeholders based on business value, complexity and cost then effectively communicating these requirements to the development team through written and oral formats. The business analyst continuously sets expectations of system functionality with all team members throughout the project.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

- Interview business stakeholders to understand project objectives, then translate into documented definitions and requirements.
- Work with architectural leads to understand application maintenance processes, determine low cost, efficient solutions and translate into documented requirements.
- Work with business and IT managers to define quality of service requirements, including security, performance and interface requirements.
- Effectively represent stakeholders by advocating and communicating requirements to the project manager and development team.
- Work closely with the project manager to define project schedules, release plans and business risk.
- Packaging and management of project-related documentation.
- Lead by example.
- Demonstrate leadership within the Business Analyst role.
Requirements - Completed four year degree in related business program.
- Two or more years working experience in an Agile/Scrum business analyst role.
- Strong working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint and Visio.
- One or more years experience in software development/engineering.
- Effective methods for written/oral communication between business stakeholders and software development engineers.
- Ability to understand, document and analyze business & data flow processes.
- An openness to change.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- One or more years experience working as a Project Manager in software development projects a plus.
- One or more years experience working as a Software Tester in software development projects a plus.
- Working knowledge of translating user stories into test plans/scenarios a plus.
