Reporting to the Pickerington, OH office.
JOB SUMMARY
Provide professional Division 8 door and hardware consulting and specification services to the architectural community with the objective of increasing the market awareness and penetration of related ASSA ABLOY products.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES and SKILLS
- Preparation of door hardware, steel door & frame and wood door specifications with annual openings, dollars specified and "hit ratio" goals corresponding to experience and marketplace.
- Extensive door and hardware product application knowledge in key construction market segments including: K-12, Healthcare, Office/Commercial and Universities.
- Able to read, interpret and review architectural construction documents including door schedules, floor plans, elevations, submittals, shop drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to conduct on-going educational seminars and training events to multiple design team decision makers and influencers.
- Understanding of fire, life safety, ADA and model building codes in relation to door and hardware applications and building design.
- Active participation and networking within local industry professional organizations (CSI, AIA, DHI).
- Routinely interact and communicate with local DSS agency staffs concerning specification bid coverage, end user specification guides and standards, distribution "ghostwriting", major project tracking (McGraw/Hill Dodge), growth objectives and related marketplace strategies.
- Self motivator with strong organizational and follow up habits. Ability to meet multiple project deadlines and exercise effective time management.

| Requirements |
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years industry related experience.
- College bachelor degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year specification preparation experience.
- AHC, CDC, CDT, CCPR Credentials and/or attendance at DHI Technical Schools (AH-3, AH-4 or equivalent).
- Must have relevant background and skills in the industry.
- Above average computer skills and working knowledge of major Microsoft "Office Suite" software programs. Experience with Comsense software tools is highly desirable.
- Training or educational presentation experience, i.e. AIA/CES seminars.
