The systems engineering department has been created to manage the system aspects of the subsea production system. The areas of work that will be covered by engineers in the department are:-
Prepare the technical content of fixed price bids, budgetary bids and studies including clarification to technical tenders. The system engineers will represent the company with clients
Provide technical authority or assist senior systems engineers with the provision of technical authority for the system design on projects such that we build in the project what was bid during the tendering phase. The system engineers will ensure that each of the technical areas of the project communicate appropriately to ensure the timely execution of the project.
Ensure that all changes made in the later stages of a project are properly reviewed and controlled.
Review technical requirements of tender enquiries for your specific discipline and propose optimum technical solution to suit.
Prepare technical offer for inclusion in bid.
Prepare responses to bid clarifications from clients, co-ordinating the
input of others as required.
Attend bid clarification meetings, assisting senior systems engineers with responses to technical queries raised.
Perform and manage study work received by the department.
Provide or assist senior system engineers with provision of design authority for projects to ensure that what is built is what was bid.
Provide or assist senior system engineers in ensuring that client related design standards and technical specifications are complied with in execution of tender / study and project.
To provide assessment of system design changes through the course of the project.
Ensure that the Project Execution Model Execution part is correctly utilised on tenders & studies.
Participate with Design and Safety Reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, Risk Assessments etc as required.
Mentor Project Engineers in technical matters their day to day work.
Focal point on technical matters to clients if no senior system engineer is assigned.
Additionally, when workload demands, the job holder may be assigned other duties as defined by the Supervisor.
Systems engineers may have to represent the organisation at seminars and conferences
Knowledge and Competence
Degree in related discipline or equivalent or HND/HNC with relevant experience.
Must have an attitude that will get after problems until resolution
Must demonstrate strong technical decision making capability
Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
Working knowledge of MS Office or equivalent.
