Wind River has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager. Position can be located in Beaverton, OR; San Diego CA; or Alameda, CA
The Senior Engineering Manager is a leader responsible for organization, communications, and results of a team performing system architecture, design, implementation, test, and release of Android and embedded software, BSP’s, device drivers, middleware, systems software and application software for a variety of Android products developed by Wind River for our customers.
The Senior Engineering Manager must have strong written/verbal/ presentation/communication skills, technical/analysis skills, and organizational skills with a background in a wide range of embedded development on complex or leading edge product development. The Senior Engineering Manager works with Executives, Directors, Program Managers, other Senior Managers and sales staff to define and deliver products for the customer.
The Senior Engineering Manager is a key member of the product team and must have the skills needed to elicit, understand and analyze customer requirements, prepare project descriptions, organize and present architecture and high-level design, prepare detailed project schedules, estimate hours, and summarize project technical risks.
The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for the management and development of the members of the team with the ability to attract and mentor top talent and develop technical leadership skills. The Senior Engineering Manager will define and review responsibilities, set expectations, provide feedback and guidance, and participate in annual performance review and goal setting activities.
During development, the Senior Engineering Manager provides organizational leadership and a sense of urgency to drive project teams and applies a broad experience base and strong leadership and interpersonal skills for management of the team. The Senior Engineering Manager works with project managers and tech leads to understand the skill sets of the team members, team dynamics and task requirements and makes effective and efficient task assignments for all team members. The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for monitoring progress and preparing status reports. The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for defining and enforcing processes, organizing architecture and high level design, and participates in reviews, provides high-level direction and is responsible for issue resolution.

| Job Description: |
- 10 plus years of embedded software engineering/quality experience, including some experience within small and fast-paced engineering organizations
- Experience leading teams of 25 or more engineers
- Experience with mobile and Android technologies highly desired
- Worldwide development team management experience
- Deep experience and knowledge of software product definition, development, and release.
